This was beautiful, the movie made me laugh and cry a lot, I saw it three times in cinema with different friends. It finally gave me a reason to talk to my father about our family and he dug up my grandfathers Hitler youth dagger from the attic. I have never met the man, I only know he was sent to the front as a teenager with other kids as young as 15. I will never know whether he was a horrible or lovely person but in the end that doesnt matter because I can still learn from it. To just be better and not fall into the same trappings that that generation fell in and be kinder to the people around me. Knowing that that is a background in our family at the same time is depressing but also fills me with a weird hope that we can get better if we make the right decisions. That we have choice.

I didn't expect much when I saw the trailer but man, was I surprised after watching this movie. Heartbreaking, funny and horrifying at the same time. I love it. Watched it on Tuesday night. I think Mr. Waititi made a film that will be seen in the same light as “Monty Pythons Life Of Brian” and the best of Mel Brooks. Mockery is still a weapon we should use... Jojo Rabbit is one of the most superb movies released this year. It may appear as just a comedy taking the mickey out of Nazis, but it's so much more than that. This movie is a beautifully told story about a boy who, through being manipulated and brainwashed through properganda, is absolutely obsessed with and idolises Adolf Hitler, then slowly starts to realise how cruel the Nazis are. Roman Griffin Davis delivers the best child performance I've ever seen in a movie. His delivery is always perfect and he's never wooden. The supporting cast are all fantastic, the standouts being Sam Rockwell and Thomasin McKenzie. When the movie becomes serious, it can be genuinely tragic and moving and the depiction of the atrocities of the Nazis is incredible. Not a single act is made up. Everything the Nazis do, think and say in this movie, they did, thought and said in real life. Jojo Rabbit is an astonishingly amazing cinematic achievement that deserves your attention. Please go and see this masterpiece.

This is easily one of the most important movies made in the last 20 years. Its flawlessly executed, the characters are flawlessly created, despite being satirical. These are humans and their lives you're watching through a satirical lens. Craftmanship at work. Taika wil be one of the greats.
